This is why I went through my wishing I were Jewish phase. The problem is, you can't convert to secular Judaism. You can only convert to religious Judaism, but that misses the point.
I guess it kind of works if you convert to Judaism when you marry a secular Jew; your Jewish wife or husband isn't going to want you to be more religious than them, yet you can hang out with your new secular Jewish family members and legitimately be considered part of the group.
Interesting that you get the same effect by being Christian in Scandinavia.
